As it says on the tin. The goal is to provide a base unittest suite for proplot to move forward. Proplot is slowly falling behind with matplotlib, creating a divide for new and persistent users.
Continuation of #413
This PR combines #413 and adds a few examples from the docs to ensure a baseline for future changes.
