Why do two function names start with a dot?

I was looking at these today as well. These are private functions and should not appear in the documentation at all. (On the other hand, they have internal documentation that is worth keeping in the source code). I propose removing them from the documentation.

(Throughout the codebase, function names starting with a dot are usually internal functions. I don't know whether that's a standard thing to do in R, but it was useful to me when I was trying to find my way around the source code so I propose keeping the dots).
