Description
Hello,
Thank you for maintaining the slice_ring_buffer crate. It's a very useful library that I've relied on in my projects.
I've noticed that the crate has entered a period of passive maintenance, with several open issues and pull requests. I completely understand how challenging it can be to sustain open-source work over time.
I am writing to formally offer to take over as the maintainer of this crate. I have a strong personal and professional interest in seeing this crate thrive. To that end, I have already undertaken significant work on my fork, which you can preview my fork
This work includes:
-
Re-implementing the core allocation and APIs to be race-condition-free on all major platforms (Unix, Darwin, Windows).
-
Drafting comprehensive English documentation to improve usability and accessibility for the community.
-
My next steps are to integrate fuzz testing and comprehensive performance benchmarks to ensure the crate's robustness and efficiency for all users.
I am deeply committed to the Rust ecosystem and would be dedicated to triaging issues, reviewing and merging pull requests, cutting new releases, and ensuring slice_ring_buffer remains a high-quality, modern dependency.
I would be grateful if you would consider transferring the ownership of the crate on crates.io and this repository to me. I am happy to discuss the process and answer any questions you might have.
Thank you for your time and for your valuable contribution to the community.
Best regards,
OpenTritium
