Investigate performance issues in GNOME

[Frontear]

While working on an OpenGL project using VSCode, I've noticed some extreme performance issues causing mouse stuttering, typing stuttering, I/O latency, and slower response times. I also notice similar issues on some fresh bootups, though they tend to stop happening after a while.

Viewing the process monitor shows no immediate culprits. CPUs are all in the single percentile of work, RAM is only half exhausted, so I'm uncertain what the problem is.

This is affecting my productivity. I need to find the culprit ASAP.
