Description
There has been an idea to put together a User story bank.
Sharing here an idea which came together yesterday during a brainstorming process. The process which was used to come up with this idea has been shared here in the community.
Introduction
This is a site where real user stories of bitcoin from around the world are documented in a digestible, consistent, searchable and useful way. Not personas. Real human stories.
When anyone in the bitcoin space is looking for evidence or a quote or an inspiring story to draw from, they can consult this resource and get examples grounded in reality on the ground. A source of truth for all the ways in which bitcoin is being used around the world, with a focus on the positive uses.
The vision is simple: show the human face of bitcoin. Collect a bank of stories that reveal who's using it, how they're using it in their everyday lives, and how it's actually helping them. Think Humans of New York, but for bitcoin.
1. What to build
The core idea
A user story bank in the bitcoin ecosystem. Real people. Real stories. Real impact. We'll collect stories from people around the world who are using bitcoin in their daily lives, showing the humanness behind the technology.
The format
One story at a time. Each person is front and center. Their face. Their voice. Their experience. We're using direct quotes, storytelling format, keeping things organic and true. If someone's not happy being public, we use an illustration of the face. But the story stays real.
The goal
Create a go-to resource that bitcoiners, media, and anyone curious can reference when they need real examples of bitcoin's impact. Help inform brand work. Provide sourced real data that can be cited about different use cases and adoption, especially the freedom-oriented use cases beyond just savings or spending.
2. The how
The homepage
Very simple. Very clean. "Humans of bitcoin" as the main header. Small thumbnails at the bottom showing a few different stories. When you click into each thumbnail, you move into the individual story page. That's it. No clutter. Just humans and their stories.
The story page
The human is front and center. We ask them a series of questions:
- Who are they?
- A little bit about their life story.
- How they discovered bitcoin.
- What pushed them to using it.
- How their experience has been.
- Their biggest struggles and what they've learned.
- Why they continue to use it and possibly what needs they still have.
The information architecture
- Homepage
- Individual story pages
- An About page explaining the vision.
- Other: A tagging system comes later, based on the stories we collect. We could tag based on geographic location and specific use cases, but we let the stories guide the tags organically.
3. Why it matters
-
This becomes a resource that gets wide usage across the industry and media. Bitcoiners value it as a place to reference the real uses of bitcoin on the ground. Not theory. Not speculation. Reality.
-
We'll collect the stories in a very organic manner. This allows the truth of the humans to rise up to the surface. It's a very beautiful and empowering way to see how bitcoin is being used out in the wild.
-
It will show the human face of bitcoin. When people come to the website, they're not looking at charts or whitepapers. They're looking at people. Real people. With real needs and how bitcoin has solved them.
